Position: Full Time Summer Youth Intern
The intern will work under the direction and guidance of the youth minister in every facet of his role, including but not limited to:
• Planning weekly activities such as Sunday nights and Bible studies
• Conducting weekly small groups for specific youth
• Planning trips, including beach retreats and mission trips
• Chaperoning trips, assisting with logistics and leading sessions where needed
• For some trips, leading trips without the assistance of the youth minister
• Assisting with general organization of the youth department
• Accompanying the youth minister during other pastoral duties, such as hospital visits and staff meetings
This individual will be required to function at a high level, leading trips and activities
independently. The start date for the position will be sometime in mid-late May 2012 and continue into early to mid-August 2012.
Ideal candidate will have exp. working with youth in another setting; a divinity school student and/or college graduate interested in ministry is preferred.
Youth department consists of 70-80 youth who are activley involved in youth program.
